About This Medicine
Primolut N contains norethisterone 5 mg, a synthetic progestogen used for dysfunctional uterine bleeding, period delay, endometriosis, and premenstrual syndrome. At this dose, norethisterone has significant progestogenic activity and can regulate or suppress menstruation depending on the regimen used.
Usage & Dosage
How to Take Primolut N
Take Primolut N (norethisterone) as directed by your prescriber, as the dose and timing depend on the reason for treatment. For period delay, start taking one tablet three times daily, three days before your expected period. Continue until you are ready for your period to resume; bleeding usually begins two to four days after stopping. For heavy or irregular bleeding, your doctor will advise on the appropriate dose and schedule.
Swallow tablets with water and try to take them at consistent times each day.
Period delay: 5 mg three times daily starting 3 days before expected period, for up to 20 days. DUB: 5 mg three times daily for 10 days. Endometriosis: 10 to 25 mg daily.
